With many of the projects we work with, no English is spoken.

Thus, it is highly recommended that you take advantage of the Spanish classes to ensure your enjoyment of the program, as well as enhancing your Spanish skills. Choose from our volunteer programs, teaching projects or internships and book a 20 hour Spanish course for one week to get all the tools to communicate, to get around and to obtain the most from your adventure. Combine intensive formal language instruction with real-life immersion in daily life and culture during your trip, to help improve your language skills, while gaining an intimate knowledge of Costa Rican culture.

You will be treated as a special guest at our Orientation Center in Alajuela making your language learning an entirely immersed experience. You will find yourself in a village located 5 minutes to the center of town, easily reached from San Jose by bus (35 minutes), and 30 minutes from the Poás Volcano.

Combine intensive formal language instruction with real immersion in daily life and culture, to help improve your language skills, while gaining an intimate knowledge of Costa Rican culture.

Being located in our relaxing and homey Orientation center you will be treated as a special guest. You will interact with people from different backgrounds in different locations such as the local market, shops and restaurants using the tools you are getting trough the Spanish course. Moving around town will help you improve your Spanish while you are having unique experiences with marvelous people.

Spanish classes are available at some volunteer placements. Once you book your volunteer project, you can check availability of Spanish classes at the placement.

Intensive 20 hour modules will be available at our orientation center and some of the volunteer placements.
During 5 days you will have theory and practice Spanish instruction trough a real  immersion in daily life and culture.
The classes will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Orientation Center or from 8:00 to 12:00 at the volunteer placement.

Intensive 20 hours modules $ 300
For Community development projects Spanish classes are included in the fee.

What is included on the fee?

Airport pickup: On date arrival is included in the fee, however early pickup is available for $25. On the pick-up day, we will take you to the orientation center.

Items not included: Flights, insuranc e, visa costs and in-country transportation (airport pickup on arrival date is included in the fee). Language Lessons are also not included, but are available. - please contact us.
