Our Internship Program works with advanced undergraduates, graduate students and all others interested in academic research or hands-on internship work. Program participants include students, professionals (both active and retired), researchers, and individuals who are clearly focused or have specific areas of interest or expertise.

This program places individuals with organizations. Offering specific internship projects, or when needed creates internships that match the goals and disciplinary backgrounds of program participants. Settings include national parks, community development organizations, women’s groups, businesses, public health organizations and indigenous reserves, amongst others. Those programs run from 4 to 24 weeks.

We also have a language school and field coordinators to help you anytime. Our staff will be there to assist you if there are any questions or changes while you are at your placement.

The projects are located along the country in main cities or rural towns.
Project placement will depend on experience, likes and mostly, the goals and disciplinary backgrounds of program participants.

One 4 All works with different organizations, local associations, rural schools, Natural reserves, National parks, rural communities, natural corridors, shelters for children with physical or psychological abuse, centers for people with physical or mental disabilities, teaching projects, and indigenous communities. We help in assisting local communities in their needs.

Health and medicine
Health and medicine internship program, offers opportunities working in prevention on health issues, alternative medicine, medicine and human rights, holistic medicine, and physical therapy.

Being part of this program, you can assist people in helping to raise the basic standard of living, as well as providing them professional and emotional support needed to live happier and healthier lives.
These projects help support underprivileged children, the elderly, people with physical or mental disabilities and indigenous communities. The placements can be at shelters for children with physical or psychological abuse, centers for people with physical or mental disabilities or rural medical attention centers.

These centers need all the help they can get to keep the place running and give the patients the treatment they deserve.

One 4 All has opportunities to get work experience through an internship program in conservation along Costa Rica. You could be assisting wild life research projects. You could be working in different rescue centers, wild life refuges and protected areas making a positive impact on the planet. All this while having an amazing experience including the preservation of many endangered species. In addition, you could be working in environmental educational programs for local communities in the country side on recycling projects.

Teaching

Our internship teaching program connects people from around the world, who are interested in teaching about different subjects such as Environmental education, Art, Sports and English, between others. The interns have the opportunity to get involved in other aspects of school life, or run extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs.

Accommodation:
It is included in your project fee. Expect home stay with a private room near your projects at a local community.

Off-Time Activities

Depending on your location, weekend activities can include hiking to the mountains surrounding the towns, mountain biking, admiring the amazing views of the country and visiting the different night entertainment establishments. Costa Rica is a very small country, therefore, traveling to the beaches or National Parks should be just as easy, if a volunteer would like to take a day trip or weekend trip to anywhere in the country.

What kind of skills do you need?
If you are part of an internship program, you don’t need any specific skills, but a positive attitude is important as you will be working with people. You must be patient, creative and have the best from you to give.

We also have a language school and field coordinators to help you anytime. Our staff will be there to assist you if there are any questions or changes while you are at your placement. For internships and work experience a 20 hour Spanish lesson course is included in the fee.

Placement fee: $975 For 4 weeks, $210 For every extra week thereafter. Special deals for longer programs. You could get paid in some of the placements.

Spanish classes: included in the project fee.

Minimum age: 18

Airport pickup: On date arrival is included in the fee, however early pickup is available for $25. On the pick-up day, we will take you to the orientation center.

Orientation: A 8-night stay at the orientation center is included. Also you will get a 20 hour Spanish course. Accommodation payment for any extra nights at the orientation center can be made in country or directly to the accommodation (approx $20).

Meals: Two meals a day are included in your project fee. Simple but nutritious breakfasts and dinners will be provided. Vegetarians are welcome.

Items not included: Flights, insurance, visa costs and in-country transportation (airport pickup on arrival date is included in the fee).

Activities: Activities will depend on the placement training skills, and level of Spanish.

Requirements: CV required for confirmation from the project. Basic or intermediate Spanish.

Meals: two or three meals (depending on the placement) a day are included in your project fee and are prepared on-site. Vegetarian options are available.

Itinerary:

  • Day 1 - Arriving in the country
  • Day 2 - Orientation
  • Day 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - 20 Hour Spanish course
  • Day 8 - Transportation to the project
